OceanNET helps New Zealand businesses stay online, stay secure, and use AI without the headaches — so you can focus on growing your business, not managing technology.
No obligation. No sales pitch. Just an honest conversation about what you actually need.
From a family of four to an enterprise of thousands — we have the right solution.
Fast, reliable home fibre with built-in family safety tools and friendly NZ-based support.
Outgrown the IT guy. Need structure, documentation, and someone accountable for the whole environment.
Boards asking about cyber risk. Insurance requiring controls. We understand the threat landscape.
Already on Microsoft 365 or Azure. Want it configured properly, secured correctly, and actively managed.
Offices and sites across the region. Need consistent IT and central visibility regardless of location.
Teams working from anywhere. Need secure access, collaboration tools, and systems that perform.
We take responsibility for your technology environment as a whole. One team, one relationship, clear ownership.
The businesses that thrive in the next three years will be the ones that made the move now — before their competitors did. Here's what's actually happening, and what it means for you.
We've evolved beyond "IT support." We use AI-powered monitoring to catch issues before they affect your business, automation to eliminate repetitive tasks, and outcome-based reviews to keep technology aligned with your goals.
When something needs attention, you talk to someone who already knows your environment — not a call centre, not a chatbot, not a ticket queue. Real people in Auckland who take full ownership of your outcomes.
One team responsible for your entire technology environment. No finger-pointing between vendors.
For critical issues during business hours — from a real person in Auckland, not a chatbot.
Your environment, mapped and maintained. When things change, the documentation changes too.
Aligned to your goals, not just tickets closed. We want to understand where you're headed.
OceanNET didn't sell us IT support — they helped us understand where AI could save us time and money right now. Within 30 days, they'd automated three manual processes and our team stopped dreading Monday morning admin. That's the difference between a technology vendor and a business partner.— Operations Manager, Auckland Professional Services Firm
Industry data from Kaseya MSP Benchmark, Datto State of MSP, and Gartner 2025–2026 reports.
OceanNET is actively exploring and building practical AI capabilities for our clients. From AI consultation and workflow automation to Microsoft Copilot deployment — we help New Zealand businesses understand, plan and implement AI in a way that actually makes sense for them.
48% of NZ businesses rank AI as their top need for 2026 — yet only 13% of IT providers are delivering it. OceanNET is one of them. Let's talk about what that means for your business.
We take responsibility for your technology environment as a whole — from day-to-day management and security monitoring through to AI readiness and strategic improvement. One team. Clear ownership.
One fixed monthly fee. One point of contact. A technology partner that takes full ownership.

Call our team and we'll help you choose. No obligation, no pressure — just honest advice.
Take control of your family's internet in one simple app. With OceanNET Family Fibre + Plume HomePass, harmful content, screen time and device rules are all managed at the network level — not per device.
Unlike device-level parental controls that can be bypassed, Plume HomePass works at the network level — meaning rules apply to every device in your home, automatically, the moment it connects to your Wi-Fi.
Family Security is available as an add-on to any OceanNET Family Fibre plan. Setup is included.
Replace your traditional landline with a VOIP home phone. Keep your existing number, enjoy crystal-clear calls and pay a simple monthly fee — all on your OceanNET fibre plan.
Whether you've had a landline for decades or you're brand new to this — here's everything you need to know about VOIP in plain, everyday language.
VOIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol — but don't let that put you off. All it means is that your phone calls travel over your internet connection instead of through old copper telephone wires.
Think of it like this: just as you might video-call a family member over the internet, VOIP lets you make regular voice calls the same way. You still use a normal phone handset — it just plugs into a different socket (or into your router).
Yes, in most cases. Your standard home telephone handset can be connected to a VOIP adapter (a small plug-in device we provide). Once set up, you use your phone exactly as you always have — pick up, dial, talk.
There is no new handset to learn. No complicated setup. It works just like your old phone, because it is your old phone.
Absolutely. We can transfer (or "port") your existing home phone number to your new VOIP plan. This usually takes 3–5 business days, and during that time your old number keeps working normally.
You can also choose a brand new local NZ number if you prefer a fresh start.
This is the most important thing to understand about VOIP. Because your home phone now works over the internet, if your internet connection goes down, your home phone will also stop working — just like how you can't send an email without internet.
This is different from an old copper landline, which worked even during power cuts.
What this means for you:
By signing up for a Home VOIP plan, you acknowledge that your phone service depends on your active internet connection. OceanNET is not liable for loss of phone service during internet outages. We recommend all VOIP customers keep a mobile phone charged and accessible at all times.
Yes — significantly. Traditional Spark or Chorus line rental for a landline can cost $40–$50/month or more before you've made a single call. Our VOIP plans start from just $15/month with 200 minutes included, or $25/month for unlimited NZ landline calls.
Calls to NZ mobile numbers are also included in the Voice Plus and Voice Max plans — which most traditional landline plans charge extra for.
VOIP services in New Zealand are able to connect to 111 (Police, Fire, Ambulance). However, because the call travels over the internet, your location may not be automatically identified the way it can be from a traditional landline or a mobile phone.
If you call 111 from a VOIP number, always clearly state your address and location at the start of the call. Do not rely on the operator to already know where you are.
Add a VOIP plan to your OceanNET family fibre. One local NZ number included on every plan. All prices exclusive of GST.

Our Auckland-based support team is here for everything from router setup and Wi-Fi troubleshooting to complete home network configuration. Real people, real help — no chatbots.
Choose how you want to get help — we're flexible to suit your situation and schedule.
Speak directly to a NZ-based technician Monday–Friday 9am–5pm. No offshore call centres, no lengthy hold queues — just practical help from someone who knows the NZ fibre network.
With your permission, we securely connect to your device and resolve most issues remotely. No need to wait for a visit — most problems are solved within the same call.
When remote support isn't enough, our Auckland technicians will come to you. We cover home network wiring, router placement, Wi-Fi dead spots and more.
New device? We'll connect it to your home network, configure security settings and ensure everything works together — printers, smart TVs, tablets and more.
Poor coverage in certain rooms? We'll assess your home layout, reposition your router or recommend a mesh Wi-Fi solution for complete whole-home coverage.
We help set up secure home networks, configure firewalls and parental controls, and advise on best practices for safe browsing and password management.
We know technology can be frustrating. Our goal isn't just to solve the problem — it's to help you understand what happened and how to prevent it in future. We speak plain English, not tech jargon.
If you're an OceanNET fibre customer, many standard support calls are included in your plan. Complex or on-site work is quoted transparently before we begin — no surprise charges.
Call our Auckland support team or send us a message and we'll get back to you.

Whether you're starting fresh or migrating from Gmail, on-premises Exchange, or another hosted provider — we handle every step with no data loss and minimal disruption to your team.
Microsoft 365 ships with security features turned off by default. We configure the controls that actually protect your business — most customers are shocked at how much was left open.
Teams is far more powerful than most businesses realise. We configure it to match how your organisation actually works — not just the default out-of-the-box experience.
Microsoft 365 isn't a "set and forget" platform. New features release constantly, users come and go, and security threats evolve. We stay on top of it all on your behalf.
Book a free M365 security and configuration assessment. We'll identify the gaps and tell you exactly what needs to be fixed.

Next-generation firewall deployment and configuration, network segmentation, and ongoing monitoring to block threats at the perimeter before they enter your environment.
Comprehensive protection for every device and server in your organisation — including advanced threat detection, automated response and patch management.

Let's have an honest conversation about what managed IT could look like for your business.
We design, deploy and document IT infrastructure built to support your business for years, not months. From network implementation and hardware installation to device configuration and integration testing — we get it right the first time.
We take a consultative approach — understanding your business requirements before recommending solutions.
We assess your current environment and design an infrastructure roadmap aligned to your business goals, budget and future growth plans.
Full network design and deployment — LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VLANs and routing configuration for businesses of every size.
Physical installation of servers, switches, access points, firewalls and workstations — rack and stack through to power-on testing.
Workstation, laptop, mobile device and printer configuration — imaging, domain join, policies and application deployment.
Integrating new infrastructure with existing systems, cloud services and third-party platforms — minimising disruption during transitions.
Rigorous testing against specification before handover — network performance, failover, security controls and user acceptance testing.
Talk to us before you commit to a vendor. We'll give you an honest assessment and a clear project plan.
We don't wait for things to break. Our remote monitoring tools watch your systems continuously and flag issues before they affect your business.
Every server, workstation and network device is monitored around the clock for performance, availability and anomalies — with automated alerting to our engineering team.
Automated deployment of OS and application security patches, tested before rollout to minimise compatibility issues and applied outside business hours.
When users have issues, we connect securely and resolve them remotely — usually faster than waiting for an onsite visit and without disrupting the rest of the team.
When an alert fires, we investigate immediately. For critical incidents, you'll hear from us — not the other way around. Response target: 15 minutes for critical issues.
Monthly reports on system health, uptime, incident volume and patch status — giving you visibility into your IT environment without having to ask for it.
We keep your environment documented and updated — network diagrams, server configs, user lists and passwords stored securely and available when you need them.
Book a 30-minute call with our team and we'll walk you through exactly how remote management works.
Most IT failures are predictable. Disk drives fill up. Software becomes outdated. Configurations drift. Certificates expire. Our maintenance programme catches these issues in a controlled window — not at 8am on a Monday when your team is trying to work.
We perform scheduled maintenance tasks during off-peak hours, with pre-approved change windows, so your business experiences minimal disruption and maximum uptime.
If the answer is never, let's talk. A small investment in prevention saves significantly on emergency response.
The difference between a security event and a security incident is response time. Our Security Operations team monitors your environment 24/7, investigates alerts in real time and responds to threats before they cause damage.
Most security tools generate alerts. The challenge is knowing which alerts matter, investigating them quickly and taking the right action. Without a dedicated team, alerts pile up and real threats go unnoticed.
Our Security Operations service provides the people, tools and processes to close that gap — giving your business enterprise-grade threat detection and response at a fraction of the cost of building it in-house.
Book a security assessment today and we'll tell you exactly where your gaps are.
Endpoints — laptops, desktops, mobiles and tablets — are the primary target for cyber attacks. Our Endpoint Protection service deploys advanced EDR technology, enforces security policies and provides visibility across every device in your fleet.
Traditional antivirus isn't enough. Modern threats require behavioural analysis, automated response and centralised visibility across your entire device fleet.
Next-generation Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) deployed across all managed devices — detecting threats that traditional antivirus misses through behavioural analysis.
Manage and secure smartphones, tablets and laptops through MDM — enforcing encryption, remote wipe capability and application controls on every device.
Unpatched software is the leading cause of breaches. We automate patching for OS and applications across your entire fleet, tested and deployed outside business hours.
Control what can be connected to your devices — blocking unauthorised USB storage, enforcing encryption on approved devices and preventing data exfiltration.
A single dashboard showing the health, patch status and security posture of every managed device — with monthly reporting for management and audit purposes.
When a threat is detected, our EDR platform can automatically isolate the affected device, kill malicious processes and alert our team — minimising dwell time.
Let us run a free endpoint health check. You might be surprised what we find.
Most servers are deployed with default settings that leave unnecessary services running, accounts unconfigured and security controls disabled. Hardening a server properly requires expertise and methodology.
OceanNET's server protection programme covers initial hardening, ongoing monitoring and regular security reviews — so your servers stay protected as your environment evolves.
We'll run a hardening assessment and give you a plain-English report on what needs to be addressed.
Many businesses discover their backups are broken or incomplete only when they need them most. OceanNET designs, implements and regularly tests backup and disaster recovery solutions — so when the worst happens, you recover quickly and completely.
Industry best practice is the 3-2-1 rule: 3 copies of your data, on 2 different media types, with 1 stored offsite. Most businesses don't meet this standard — and many don't test their backups regularly.
We design backup solutions tailored to your Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) — then test them regularly to make sure they actually work when you need them.
If not — or if you're not sure — let us review it. We'll tell you honestly whether you're protected.
Not every workload belongs in the public cloud. We'll help you make the right decision — and if cloud is right for you, we'll do the migration properly.
Before recommending a cloud platform or architecture, we assess your current environment, understand your business goals and identify which workloads are good cloud candidates — and which aren't.
Structured migration methodology that minimises risk and downtime. Whether it's a single application or an entire data centre, we follow a proven process from planning through to cutover.
Moving to the cloud is the start, not the end. We manage your cloud environment on an ongoing basis — monitoring costs, optimising performance and ensuring security controls remain effective.
Many businesses need a hybrid approach — keeping some workloads on-premises while running others in the cloud. We design and manage hybrid environments that give you the benefits of both.
We'll give you an honest, technology-agnostic assessment — not a sales pitch for any particular platform.
These aren't future plans — they're live services you can engage today. Each one is built for NZ SMEs and backed by our Auckland team.
A structured 90-minute consultation that maps your current environment, identifies your highest-value AI opportunities, and gives you a plain-English action plan. No commitment required — just clarity.
Copilot is already included in Microsoft 365 Business Premium — but 90% of businesses haven't activated it properly. We deploy, configure and train your team so it actually saves time from day one.
Your staff are already using AI tools — ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini. The question is whether sensitive business data is leaking into them. We deploy an AI security layer that monitors, controls and protects.
We identify the repetitive, time-consuming tasks your team does every day — data entry, report generation, email triage, approvals — and automate them using AI and Microsoft Power Automate.
Before your team uses AI at scale, you need guardrails. We create a practical, plain-English AI governance framework tailored to your industry — covering data handling, acceptable use, and compliance obligations.
A dedicated technology strategist who understands your business goals and acts as your fractional CIO — helping you make better decisions about AI, technology investment and digital transformation.
Traditional IT support is priced on devices and hours. OceanNET's AI services are measured on what you actually care about.
Our structured onboarding process takes you from "we're not sure where to start" to real, measurable AI impact — without disrupting your operations.
We map your current environment, data landscape and workflows. Identify the highest-value AI opportunities specific to your business. Deliver a written report with prioritised recommendations.
Before deploying any AI, we put the right guardrails in place. AI Acceptable Use Policy, data classification, security controls — so your business is protected from day one.
We start with the highest-impact, lowest-disruption AI wins first — usually Copilot, one automated workflow, and AI monitoring. Results your team will notice within days.
Tools are useless without adoption. We run practical training sessions for your team — not abstract demos, but real use cases for your industry and workflows.
AI evolves fast. Monthly check-ins ensure your tools stay current, your governance stays relevant, and your team keeps finding new value. Includes quarterly strategic reviews.
Everything a NZ SME needs to run securely, stay online, and use AI effectively — bundled into one monthly subscription. Primary internet + failover, Microsoft 365, AI deployment and governance, security, monitoring and your vCIO advisory.
Pricing tailored to your team size and requirements.
Off-the-shelf software rarely fits perfectly. When your workflows have specific requirements, integrations need to connect systems that don't talk to each other, or you need something that simply doesn't exist — we build it.
We work with NZ businesses to understand their processes first — then build solutions that solve real problems, integrate with existing systems and can grow as the business grows.
We take a transparent approach to development — clear requirements, regular progress updates and no surprise invoices at the end of a project. We also provide ongoing support and maintenance once your solution is live.
Talk to us before you start building. We'll give you an honest assessment and help you define the scope properly.
We help NZ businesses make better technology decisions. Whether you need an independent review of a vendor proposal, a strategic IT roadmap or expert input on a major technology project, we give you a straight answer — not one that benefits a commission.
We've seen the consequences of poor technology decisions — expensive systems that don't fit, migrations that go wrong, and vendors who oversell. Our consultation service helps you avoid that.
A structured review of your current IT environment, aligned to your business goals, with a prioritised roadmap of improvements over 12–24 months — complete with budget estimates.
An independent review of your current IT environment, documentation, security posture and support arrangements — identifying gaps, risks and opportunities for improvement.
Before signing a major IT contract, have us review the proposal. We'll tell you if it's appropriate for your needs, flag any concerns and help you negotiate better terms.
IT budget planning with realistic cost estimates, lifecycle forecasting for aging hardware and software, and business case development for significant technology investments.
Technology assessments for mergers, acquisitions or business sales — providing a clear picture of the IT environment, its health, risks and estimated remediation costs.
Practical guidance on how to improve your technology environment — cutting unnecessary complexity, adopting the right cloud tools and building a more resilient, scalable IT foundation.
We give advice based on your interests, not ours. Let's have an honest conversation.
OceanNET was founded in Auckland with a simple belief: New Zealand businesses and households deserve enterprise-quality technology delivered by people who actually care about the outcome.
We started OceanNET because we kept seeing NZ businesses struggle with IT that didn't work, vendors who oversold and support teams who weren't accountable. We decided to build something different.
Our approach is simple: understand the business first, design the right solution, implement it properly, document everything, and stay accountable for the outcome. Not glamorous — but consistently effective.
Today, we work with families needing reliable home broadband and growing organisations that need a mature IT function. Our Auckland team serves clients across New Zealand — with the same standard of service regardless of size.
We deliver on our commitments, every time. Your uptime and your outcome are our responsibility.
No hidden fees, no jargon. Plain-language communication from the first conversation to every invoice.
We stay ahead of technology trends so your business benefits from the right advances at the right time.
Proudly New Zealand. We support local businesses with genuine local expertise and genuine accountability.
Enterprise-grade security standards applied to every engagement — because you can't retrofit security later.
We're a long-term partner, not a transaction. We measure success by your outcomes, not our ticket count.

Getting started is straightforward. Here's the process from sign-up to being online.
First we verify fibre is available at your address. Most Auckland homes have Chorus fibre access. Contact us or check via the Chorus website.
Pick a plan that suits your household — Starter for basic browsing, up to Ultra for high-speed multi-device homes. All plans include unlimited data.
We book a Chorus installation at a time that suits you. A technician connects the fibre to your home (usually 1–2 hours). Standard installation is free.
Once the fibre ONT (small white box on your wall) is connected, you plug in your router and you're online. OceanNET routers come pre-configured.
Most "slow internet" issues are actually Wi-Fi issues, not your broadband. Test by plugging directly into your router with an ethernet cable.
Visit speedtest.net or fast.com. Run it on a device plugged directly into your router for accuracy.
If speed is significantly below your plan even on a wired connection, call us on 09 833 3426 — we can run a remote diagnostic.
Look at the small white box where the fibre cable enters your home. It should have green lights. Red or no lights may indicate a fibre issue.
Outages sometimes affect whole areas due to maintenance or damage. Check the Chorus outage page or call us on 09 833 3426.
VOIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol. It means your phone calls travel over your internet connection instead of old copper telephone wires.
Just as you might video-call a family member over the internet, VOIP lets you make regular voice calls the same way. You still use a normal telephone handset — it just connects differently (through your router).
VOIP phones can call 111 (Police, Fire, Ambulance). However, your location may not be automatically identified. Always clearly state your full address at the start of any 111 call.
Yes — in most cases you can keep your existing number. This is called "number porting."
Number porting costs a one-off fee of $20. This is optional — a free new local NZ number is included with your plan.
OceanNET Business VOIP is built on the Yeastar P-Series — an enterprise-grade cloud phone system used by thousands of businesses worldwide.
It's a cloud-hosted PBX (Private Branch Exchange) — your entire phone system lives securely online, with no expensive hardware on-site. Always up to date, accessible from any device.
Every user gets the Linkus UC app — available on mobile (iOS and Android), desktop (Windows/Mac), and web browser. Turn any device into a full business phone extension.
Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) is Microsoft's cloud subscription service — the tools most businesses use every day.
All prices exclude GST, per user/month, annual commitment. Contact OceanNET for current NZD pricing.
We recommend using the Outlook app for the best experience.
If you see "Can't connect to server," your Microsoft 365 admin may need to enable mobile device access. Contact OceanNET for help.
Microsoft Copilot is an AI assistant built into Microsoft 365. It helps write emails, summarise meetings, create documents, analyse data and much more.
Look for the Copilot button (colourful sparkle icon) in your Office apps. If you don't see it, you may need a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence — contact OceanNET.
Restarting your router is the first thing to try for any internet issue. It's quick, safe, and fixes most problems.
Your OceanNET Wi-Fi 6 router comes pre-configured for your connection.
Open a browser and go to 192.168.1.1. The default username and password are on the router label. From there you can change your Wi-Fi name and password.
OceanNET bills all services monthly, in advance.
Invoices are emailed to your billing email address at the start of each month. All invoices are also available in the OceanNET Client Portal at my.oceannet.nz.
All OceanNET services are priced exclusive of GST. GST (15%) is added to your invoice and clearly itemised.
Family Fibre plans are available on 12-month or 24-month contract terms. After your contract term, your plan continues month-to-month.
Cancellation: A minimum 30-day written notice is required. Early termination of a contract term may incur an early termination fee.
Business Fibre plans are on a 24-month contract. Business VOIP plans are month-to-month.
Cancellation: A minimum 30-day written notice is required after the contract term.
Restart both your router AND your ONT. Unplug both, wait 60 seconds, plug the ONT back in first, wait 1 minute, then plug in the router.
If only Wi-Fi devices drop out (not wired devices), the issue is likely Wi-Fi interference. Try changing your router's Wi-Fi channel in the router settings.
Note when dropouts happen — same time every day? When someone uses the microwave? This helps OceanNET diagnose the cause more quickly.
If dropouts persist, call us on 09 833 3426. We can monitor your connection remotely and identify the cause.
VOIP requires an active internet connection. If your internet is down, your phone will have no dial tone. Try loading a webpage to confirm.
The VOIP adapter is a small device connected between your router and your phone. Check it has power (green power light) and is connected to your router.
Ensure the phone cable is firmly plugged into both your handset and the "Phone" port on the VOIP adapter.
Still no dial tone? Call OceanNET on 09 833 3426 (from your mobile) and we will run a remote diagnostic.
Both use the Chorus fibre network but differ in important ways:

Plume HomePass is a family internet safety service that works at the network level — protecting every device in your home automatically.
Unlike device-level parental controls (which can be bypassed), Plume HomePass works inside your router. Rules apply to every device on your Wi-Fi — phones, tablets, smart TVs and gaming consoles — automatically.
Everything is controlled through the Plume HomePass app on your smartphone. Changes take effect instantly.
Our Auckland team is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
